Today Is *Not* The Day That The Sea Level Will Begin To Recede

I’m not entirely sure what scares me more about Then-Senator, now President Barack Obama’s speeches during the campaign. There are the untrue and completely ridiculous things the man said he was promising.

Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth.

Or maybe, even worse, is the fact that he actually believed his own pigeon talk. This stupidity on his part is proven by the fact that he actually pursued the Copenhagen Accord on Climate Change as if it really *were* going to slow the rise of the oceans.

Like King Canute, in Days of Old, St. Barack strode manfully forth to declare his commandments to the tides! Well, except that this required the help of many other countries, and therein, according to Wiki-leaks releases, lies a tale of great skullduggery that belies our current President’s claims to running an open administration and to restore science to its proper place.

According to US Diplomatic cabals released by Julian Assange, the US attempted to spy on diplomats representing the opposing point of view on the treaty. Details regarding the most open and ethical Presidential Administration in anyone’s lifespan follow below.

In the cable requesting intelligence from UN diplomats, it names specific countries of interest, including China, France, Japan, Mexico, Russia and the European Union, and seeks biographical details of individuals such as credit card and frequent-flyer numbers. It also seeks compromising intelligence on the officials running the climate negotiations, such as “efforts by treaty secretariats to influence treaty negotiations or compliance”.

What made this even more embarrassing for the president, was the fact that the CIA requested this intelligence, and Hillary Clinton signed off on the memorandum. His appointee officially chopped on it. Details follow below.

Reporting officers should include as much of the following information as possible when they have information relating to persons linked to : office and organizational titles; names, position titles and other information on business cards; numbers of telephones, cell phones, pagers and faxes; compendia of contact information, such as telephone directories (in compact disc or electronic format if available) and e-mail listings; internet and intranet “handles”, internet e-mail addresses, web site identification-URLs; credit card account numbers; frequent flyer account numbers; work schedules, and other relevant biographical information.

US State Dept. Memo entitled: “REPORTING AND COLLECTION NEEDS: THE UNITED NATIONS”. (HT: Guardian UK)

Brazil used its opposition to the treaty as a fulcrum, and attempted to take large sums of money out of the US to support Brazil’s Amazon Fund. They seemed perturbed that Barack Obama would demand concessions from their country absent meaningful financial commitments in return.

China operated in a similar fashion. They told President Obama that he had to give them the intellectual property necessary to perform the CO2 mitigations that he requested. Senator Kerry raised this as a possibility; the Chinese wasted no time in pointing this at President Obama’s head like a .44 Magnum.

On 27 May 2009, the Senate foreign relations committee chairman, John Kerry, met the Chinese vice-premier, Li Keqiang. “Li seized on Kerry’s proposal for deeper co-operation on green technology research, calling this ‘immediately realistic’,” a cable reports. Li says: “China wishes the US would lift high technology export restrictions”,

So a US President is so utterly duped by the charlatans of climate science that he literally believes what he reads in UN IPCC reports and other similarly “scientific” literature put out at the behest of the so=called “Hockey Team”. As a result of this delusional set of beliefs, he actually sets out to use espionage tactics to undermine and embarrass anyone who points out the obvious dishonesty of the underlying thesis that human beings were causing “run-away” Global Warming. In the course of pursuing this delusional will-o-the-wisp, he and his administration are caught red-handed by the Wiki-Leaks drop ordering the US diplomatic corps to undertake spying missions against other nations that will destroy their trust in US diplomacy for at least the next generation.

The crowds voted Barack Obama into office chanting “Yes We Can!” Reality just offered the smug rejoinder, “Umm, actually, no you can’t!” Today is not the day that the raise of the oceans will be slowed. Today is not the day that affordable health care will magically appear for all. Today is not the day that anyone will respect, or consider sentient, an America ruled by such a simultaneously naive and disingenuous fool as President Barack Obama.
