There is a place for patience and understanding when you attempt to organize a broad political coalition athwart a sick and perverted political order like American Progressivism. Thus far, Redstate.com has displayed that in addressing the latest moral filth labeled as Conservative opinion spewed forth by Inner Party Screech-Harpy Ann Coulter.

There is also a time and place to remind ourselves that Redstate.com exists to defend the cause of life. Thus in respectful dissent to some of the fine and outstanding minds who contribute to our site, I read Coulter’s introduction to her latest abomination “I wonder how the Ebola doctor feels…” and I am all out of patience and forbearance. She asks “Why did Dr. Brantly have to go to Africa?” Herein lies a question that reveals the utter moral emptiness that infests anyone holding to the Objectivist Moral Absolute that all altruism is evil.

You see Ann Coulter is angered that an American Doctor went abroad to West Africa to confront the recent Ebola infestation when he could have been treating sick people here in the United States. She sees it as foolish (The very first ‘risk factor’ listed by the Mayo Clinic for Ebola — an incurable disease with a 90 percent fatality rate — is: ‘Travel to Africa.’). I’m reminded of one Jesus’ parables at this juncture. Something about a doctor going to where people are sick. That could involve a risk factor. Bless Ann’s heart for pointing that out.

Then we get the utterly solipsistic post-modern intellectual hectoring a true Optimate Renaissance Man like Dr. Brantley on how he could be a better Xian:

If Dr. Brantly had practiced at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles and turned one single Hollywood power-broker to Christ, he would have done more good for the entire world than anything he could accomplish in a century spent in Liberia. Ebola kills only the body; the virus of spiritual bankruptcy and moral decadence spread by so many Hollywood movies infects the world.

Ann, Americans who feel entitled to tell a man like Dr. Brantley who he should save and who he shouldn’t be bothering with are about one-step removed from the morality of eugenicists. One of Margaret Sanger’s big arguments in favor of Planned Parenthood involved the Malthusian conceit that resource constraints gave us the right to predetermine which of God’s Children should be permitted to breed. If only Dr. Brantly had treated the Burt Reynolds character from the movie “Boogie Nights” -the guy who gave the world Dirk Diggler and Chest Rockwell. What a wonderful service to humanity that would have been. They could have co-founded a charity together: “Dildos for Jeebus!” But no, he had to go waste his talents on poor people from Africa.

It would be pointless to explain to obnoxious, bratty Ann why Dr. Brantly had to go to Africa. I’ll try instead for anyone reading this post not as far along the road to a cocaine uni-nostril as much of the rest of the sick and amoral perma-class that infests American polity. Dr. Brantly did not have to go to Africa. He chose to go to Africa. Maybe he thumbed through a copy of The Gospels one day after he was fed up treating the spoiled, over-entitled Americans and read something like this:

19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Dr. Brantly may still die of Ebola here on Earth. I would be saddened even though I never had the good fortune of seeing this heroic and generous man in action. He did not have to go to Africa and fight a horrible epidemic but he chose wisely. It had to do with where he was laying up his treasure. As for Ann Coulter, she just angered me enough to take time out of my busy day to write this blog post and lavish her with more !ATTENTION! Jesus said in his famous sermon: “She has received her reward in full.”
