Ted Cruz Slams Democrats' Stone-faced Refusal to Applaud During SOTU

Speaking to Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity after President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address tonight, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) slammed Congressional Democrats for their refusal to applaud during the speech.

Cruz praised Trump, calling his performance “a tremendous job overall” and specifically highlighting the President’s mention of jobs, the economy, and the recent tax cut bill.

“I thought it was a very, very strong speech, and a strong night for the President,” said Cruz.

“It is stunning, the successes we had in 2017, delivering on our promises,” he continued, mentioning issues like regulatory reform, the “historic tax cuts,” repealing the Obamacare individual mandate, and judicial appointments.

Also stunning, said Cruz, was the Democrats’ reaction to the speech:

It was stunning to watch Washington Democrats sit there stone-faced and refuse to applaud more jobs, higher wages, jobs coming back to America. Refuse to applaud wins for the working men and women of this country.

That was really sad to see.
