The special CNN program, “Stand Up: The Students of Stoneman Douglas Demand Action,” will air live on Wednesday, February 21 at 9:00 p.m. ET, and will be moderated by Jake Tapper.

Rubio has been the target of a lot of criticism from gun control advocates in the wake of the shooting, and in response has been more outspoken than usual for him on his Twitter account. Yesterday, he posted a series of tweets pushing back against some of the more disingenuous attacks against him.

He has continued to comment about gun laws and proposals he would be interested in supporting, including the “gun violence restraining order” idea praised by National Review‘s David French.

Rubio also shared a New York Times link discussing a program in Los Angeles that seeks to identify potentially violent people before they act.
