As CNN reports on Covington Catholic high school student Nick Sandmann’s lawsuit against … CNN, now is a great time to remind people of just how quickly a lie from a deceptively short video can spread across the Internet.

In a viral post that made waves on Twitter yesterday, Twitter user Paul Martinez tweeted out a link to a short video he had also posted to his YouTube channel. The clip is titled “Another Day in Trump’s America”.

I’ll set it up:

“Just Another Day in Trump’s America” starts out showing a woman in the backseat of a car being driven by a black Uber driver on a dark night in an apartment complex where the streets are covered in snow and ice. He drops her off and she tells him the road is closed, and that he should turn around at the bottom of the hill in order to get out of the neighborhood.

The woman gets out of the car, goes inside her residence, and heads to the microwave to heat up something. You then see a brief clip of her TV tuned to MSNBC‘s news coverage about the Nick Sandmann/Nathan Phillips controversy. She puts the TV on mute after a few seconds and looks out her window as if she heard or saw something disturbing.

In the next clip, she walks outside with her cellphone in hand, saying “Excuse me, though?” She begins videotaping a white man in the neighborhood who is waving his hands in the air while standing in the street and shouting for the black Uber driver to “Go, keeping going, go!”

The white guy is wearing a MAGA hat. She assumes the worst.

As to what happens next, you really should watch the video (below) to find out. It’s eerily reminiscent of what happened to Nick Sandmann in January.

But it does get better, and the real story behind what the woman taped is what I believe America is all about minus the outrage mobs and thought police. Watch below:

As of this writing, the tweet has over 12,000 retweets and over 20,000 likes – and both are steadily rising. The YouTube video has over 32,000 views, but that number will rise, too. It really is that good. It will be 2 minutes and 20 seconds of your time well-spent.

Martinez, by the way, is a former Democrat who saw the light.

Right on.
