The 2020 reelection campaign for Mitch McConnell is off to a smooth start with some team merch that has people talking.

The Hill reports:

The reelection campaign for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is selling “Cocaine Mitch” t-shirts, an embrace of the label given to the Kentucky Republican by failed 2018 West Virginia Senate candidate Don Blankenship (R).

[…]

Blankenship last year ran an advertisement in which he said “one of my goals as U.S. senator will be to ditch Cocaine Mitch.”

He later said in a news release that he was referring to McConnell’s “father-in-law who founded and owns a large Chinese shipping company [and] has given Mitch and his wife millions of dollars over the years,” adding that the company was implicated in alleged cocaine smuggling.

Here’s a Twitter image McConnell’s team posted after Blankenship lost his primary race:

The t-shirts cost $35. Here’s what they look like:

In addition to the t-shirts, the campaign is also selling “Cocaine Mitch” stickers for $10:

Liberals are, of course, fauxfended by the t-shirts and stickers:

…. but others think they are pretty nifty and have already placed their orders:

The Senate Majority Leader even reportedly answered his phone last year as “Cocaine Mitch”:

Don’t be surprised if you see “Grim Reaper McConnell” or “Nuclear Mitch” t-shirts one day soon, too:

Like the “Cocaine Mitch” nickname, McConnell embraces the others without a shred of regret:

Indeed:

And oh yeah, this, too:

More, please!
