Hell Freezes Over as CNN 'Fact Checker' Daniel Dale Finally Takes Aim at Joe Biden

Though Joe Biden's penchant for making up stories out of whole cloth about his life story, family and political history, etc. is not a breaking news development, the false story he told on Monday, the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on America, was a special kind of offensive.

As RedState previously reported, Biden was in Alaska rather than New York City on September 11, 2023, a concerning departure from tradition for U.S. presidents. During a speech he gave at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Biden claimed that the day after 9/11 he was at Ground Zero - the site of the two 110-story World Trade Center towers that collapsed from the terrorist attack the previous day.

For those who missed Biden's remarks, here's the transcript. Video to follow:

Each of us — each of those precious lives stolen too soon when evil attacked.  Ground Zero in New York, I remember standing there the next day and looking at the building.  I felt like I was looking through the gates of hell, it looked so devastating because of the way you could — where — from where you could stand.

The problem, of course, was that Biden's statement was not true. According to records and video from that day, then-Sen. Joe Biden was actually in Washington, D.C. on the floor of the U.S. Senate.

Normally in these instances, we cannot rely on our supposed intellectual betters in the media's fact-checking community to do due diligence on these matters because it involves Democrats getting caught making stuff up. And even when they do "fact check" a Democrat it's usually to excuse the Democrat by proclaiming that the statement they made was "nuanced" or whatever.

This time around, though, one came through. CNN's Daniel Dale, of all people, one of the most notorious apologists for Joe Biden in the press, got on to Biden Tuesday for what he said about being at Ground Zero. Not only that, but Dale brought up a few more tall tales Biden has told over the years including the Amtrak conductor story and the one Biden has repeatedly told about driving an 18-wheeler.

Watch:

Here's what Dale wrote about Biden's Ground Zero fib:

Facts First: Biden was not at Ground Zero the day after 9/11. He actually went to Ground Zero nine days after the attacks.

Asked Monday night about the claim, the White House provided a photo and article showing that Biden, then a senator for Delaware, toured Ground Zero on September 20, 2001. A White House official then emailed this comment on condition of anonymity: “The President first visited the World Trade Center nine days after the September 11 terrorist attacks as part of a bipartisan delegation from the Senate.”

Dale then wrote two long paragraphs recalling other whoppers Biden has told about his past in what is a clear sign that maybe for 9/11 at least, Biden took it too far even for Daniel Dale.
