People Have Questions After Peculiar Way ABC News Described Victim in Alleged Von Miller Assault

The erasure of the word "woman" from the public lexicon continues apace not just thanks to woke activists and Democrats at all levels of government but also thanks to the dutifully compliant mainstream media, which continues to insult our intelligence in their reporting on stories involving women, especially those who are pregnant.

The latest example comes courtesy of ABC News, which brought us news Thursday of an assault that was allegedly committed by Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller.

The alleged incident was said to be between Miller and an expectant mother. But that's not the way ABC News characterized it. Instead, they referred to the woman as a "pregnant person":

DALLAS -- Police in Dallas have issued an arrest warrant for Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller for allegedly assaulting a pregnant person.

According to police, a preliminary investigation of a “major disturbance” at a home on Wednesday determined that Miller, 34, and the victim got into a verbal argument and the suspect assaulted the victim, who is pregnant. They said Miller left the scene before they arrived.

The victim was treated for minor injuries and an arrest warrant was issued for Miller.

"Pregnant person" was also included in their headline:

Naturally, this led to some questions.

"Do you guys know how idiotic you sound?" asked one Twitter user.

"Was the pregnant person a vagina owner?" wondered another.

Another quipped, "Did Ketanji Brown Jackson write that headline?"

Thankfully, other media outlets like the Washington Post and CBS News as well as sporting news outlets like ESPN and Bleacher Report referred to the alleged victim, who is Miller's longtime significant other, as a girlfriend/woman. However "pregnant person" made it into other parts of their reporting as well.

Obviously the bigger, more important issue here is the alleged victim's well-being along with that of her unborn child, assuming the disturbing allegations, detailed below by the Dallas Morning News, are true:

More from their story:

Police responded to the apartment condominium and saw the woman had “minor abrasions” on her left hand, as well as bruising on her abdomen, left bicep and neck that was “consistent with applied pressure,” the affidavit says.

The woman showed police a recording where Miller could be heard in the background yelling and telling her to get out, according to the affidavit. In her 911 call, she also identified herself and Miller, the affidavit says.

The woman shared a photo with police showing a positive pregnancy test and a screenshot of texts with Miller that discussed the child’s possible due date and the location of an upcoming doctor’s appointment, according to the affidavit.

That said, it's worth mentioning that there are some purported "news" outlets out there that have no problems victimizing women in additional ways, including leaving out the fact that they are, you know, actual women in their stories.
