WATCH: The Hilarious ‘Alabama Man’ Story That Has to Be Seen to Be Believed

As we've noted before, the one and only Florida Man has solidified his standing as an absolute legend in America, assuming a sort of cult-like status (complete with his own Twitter account) with a passionately devoted following despite his occasional serious wrongdoings.

But every once in a while, Florida Man gets some serious competition, something that indeed happened very early on in 2024 thanks to an Alabama man who found himself stuck in some sort of urn planter during a New Year's Eve party.

The festive gathering took place in Mountain Brook, which has a population of just under 23,000, with what looked to be many of them in attendance at the party. In the video clip below you see several well-dressed attendees who were drinking wine while surrounding the understandably agitated young man, Connor Padgett, as he unsuccessfully struggled to free himself from the urn.

“I am doing everything I f**king can. Godd*mit!” Padgett yells at people who were presumably busy making suggestions but not much else. “I already took my belt off, and that didn’t do sh*t.”

Watch (language warning):

As of this writing, the video has over 15 million views on the Twitter machine.

Incredibly, much of what went down apparently was live-tweeted by the CasualThursday account in a series of nine tweets, starting with the below announcement:

We have a man stuck in a decorative urn at this Mountain Brook house party. I repeat, we have a drunk man stuck in a large decorative urn at this Mountain Brook house party. Details as they develop.

Some 40 minutes later, the same account noted that the urn was shattered in order to free Alabama Man:

There’s a cracking sound and the crowd cheers. He is free! The urn has been shattered and our hero emerges unscathed. Our long national nightmare is over.

And just like Florida Man, Alabama Man now has his own Twitter account:

And not only does Padgett aka Alabama Man now have his own Twitter account, but the story of him being trapped in the urn has been featured at major news outlets like the New York Post and AL.com, the latter of which pointed out this was not the first time this year an Alabama man made national headlines for all the wrong reasons:

Padgett’s sticky situation went viral days after a man stripped naked and jumped into the Leeds Bass Pro Shops aquarium before knocking himself unconscious on Friday.

Video taken by bystanders showed the man do a cannonball into the aquarium and later stand under the waterfall.

As two Leeds police officers began to walk up the stairs, the man exited the water, yelled something to the officers and then dove back into the water.

He continued to shout something to officers before he climbed over the side of the aquarium and dropped to the concrete floor below, appearing to have been knocked out by the fall.

Musta been something in the water...?
