With all the talk of the world elite convening in Davos this past week to once again ponder how best to save us all from ourselves (while largely eschewing any contemplation of the One who saves), the headline “Forgive Us Our Betters” wandered across my mind and I almost set about drafting it — until I looked and discovered that, lo and behold, I’d done just that exactly one year ago.

AWKWARD: Moore to the Point - Forgive Us Our Betters

I’d say, “Great minds think alike,” but there’s only one mind involved here, and I’m beginning to wonder about it just a smidge.

I suppose one way to look at it is to consider the benefits of recycling and repurposing. Those are certainly measures aimed at improving the world a wee bit that most can get behind, regardless of ideology.

Whether or not they’ll save the world, well, that’s debatable. But I feel fairly confident in predicting who won’t: John Kerry and his fellow Better Than Thous from their lofty perches atop the Swiss Alps. But God bless ‘em for trying, I suppose.
