Responding to the news, CNN's senior legal analyst Elie Honig said CNN’s Newsroom that the dropping of said charges was “embarrassing” for Willis and her team.

Only the Senate is holding hearings on Thursday. Here's a sample of what they have in store:

Senate Armed Services - Hearings to examine the posture of United States Northern Command and United States Southern Command in review of the Defense Authorization Request for Fiscal Year 2025 and the Future Years Defense Program
Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs - Hearings to examine responding to the increasing wildfire threat
Senate Finance - Hearings to examine the President's proposed budget request for fiscal year 2025 for the Department of Health and Human Services
Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions - Hearings to examine workers benefitting from new technology and increased productivity (tying into legislation introduced by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) to establish a 32-hour/four-day work week without any reduction in pay)

Also, now that the House has passed its bill to force the sale of TikTok, all eyes will be on the Senate. Will they move forward with a bill (which President Joe Biden has signaled he'll sign)?

White House What's Up

President Biden is out on the campaign trail. He'll leave Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and head for Saginaw, Michigan, for a campaign event, after which he'll return to the White House.

A hearing is set Thursday morning in the Mar-a-Lago/classified documents case against former President Donald Trump on motions to dismiss filed by Trump and co-defendant Walt Nauta. Trump is expected to be in attendance.

Meanwhile, in Fulton County, Judge Scott McAfee has signaled he'll be issuing a ruling on the motions to disqualify District Attorney Fani Willis "this week," which means we can expect the ruling either Thursday or Friday. Could be interesting...

We need more Democrats like Harold Ford Jr. (I'm watching the replay of "The Five" as I write this.) He's just a decent guy. He's left of center but not way left of center. He's fair in his assessments. He's the guy you could find some common ground with and not feel like it involved tying yourself in pretzel knots and giving away the farm.
