Joe Biden Has New Shoes, and People Are Asking Questions

If those aren't my grandfather's all-black New Balances or similar, they sure look like them. At this current rate of progression, they are going to be driving him out to the helicopter in a golf cart by the end of the year.

Biden White House Faces Uncomfortable Questions After Princess 'KateGate' Photo Editing Controversy

I'm doubtful a majority of Americans are going to be fooled into thinking Biden, who has obvious limitations that can't be airbrushed away, can run circles around people half his age, as we've also been told.

As Judge Throws Out Trump Charges, Even CNN Admits Fani Willis Keeps Humiliating Herself

Responding to the news, CNN's senior legal analyst Elie Honig said CNN’s Newsroom that the dropping of said charges was “embarrassing” for Willis and her team.

WHAT'S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill...

Only the Senate is holding hearings on Thursday. Here's a sample of what they have in store:

  • Senate Armed Services - Hearings to examine the posture of United States Northern Command and United States Southern Command in review of the Defense Authorization Request for Fiscal Year 2025 and the Future Years Defense Program
  • Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs - Hearings to examine responding to the increasing wildfire threat
  • Senate Finance - Hearings to examine the President's proposed budget request for fiscal year 2025 for the Department of Health and Human Services
  • Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions - Hearings to examine workers benefitting from new technology and increased productivity (tying into legislation introduced by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) to establish a 32-hour/four-day work week without any reduction in pay)

White House What's Up

President Biden is out on the campaign trail. He'll leave Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and head for Saginaw, Michigan, for a campaign event, after which he'll return to the White House.

Full Court Press...

A hearing is set Thursday morning in the Mar-a-Lago/classified documents case against former President Donald Trump on motions to dismiss filed by Trump and co-defendant Walt Nauta. Trump is expected to be in attendance

Meanwhile, in Fulton County, Judge Scott McAfee has signaled he'll be issuing a ruling on the motions to disqualify District Attorney Fani Willis "this week," which means we can expect the ruling either Thursday or Friday. Could be interesting...

MORNING MUSING

We need more Democrats like Harold Ford Jr. (I'm watching the replay of "The Five" as I write this.) He's just a decent guy. He's left of center but not way left of center. He's fair in his assessments. He's the guy you could find some common ground with and not feel like it involved tying yourself in pretzel knots and giving away the farm.
