Very little in life is black and white/either-or. There are shades of gray and subtle nuances to navigate in most instances.

But every once in a while, you encounter a situation where there really are just two realistic possibilities: A or B; pool or pond.

So, for instance, after Special Counsel Robert Hur released his report regarding President Joe Biden's mishandling of classified documents, we were presented with two alternative conclusions: Either Biden was a feeble, sympathetic old man with declining faculties, such that the likelihood of a jury convicting him is slim to none or he's sufficiently sharp enough to lead the free world, and thus, to be prosecuted. Can't really be both.

Likewise, as House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer observed during Wednesday's hearing, Biden was either used by his family to rake in millions of dollars, or he knew exactly what he was doing to enrich his family. He was either incompetent or complicit. Pick your poison.

Neither one of them is good for the country — or the world.
