In the Age of Trump, philanthropy has been redefined as the practice of collecting money from other people, donating it to a charity — preferably one that benefits you or a relative, and then taking credit for the giving as if it were your own money. The Washington Post’s David Fahrenthold has been an absolute scourge of Trumpian faux-philanthropy (see here | here | here). Today he takes a closer look at Trump’s personal giving by calling the organizations Trump claims to have given to and asking them.
