Did Donald Trump Shut David Muir Down on the Women's March So Hard That ABC News CUT IT? [VIDEO]

Last night ABC News aired the interview of Donald Trump by David Muir. According to reports it was somewhere on the scale of Surreal-To-Dumpster-Fire. I don’t know. There is no way I’m watching that much nonsense.

Anyway, the subject of the Women’s March came up, and President Trump just nailed it.

Here is the conversation:

MUIR [Voiceover]: And as we walked through the White House, we asked the president about the voices. Just outside Washington, D.C. And across the country, the more than a million women, men, and children who marched during the inauguration.

Let me just ask you while we’re standing outside, could you hear the voices from the Women’s March here in Washington? We know there were more than a million people who turned out, and you are their president now too.

TRUMP: That’s true.

MUIR: Could you hear them from the White House?

TRUMP: No, I couldn’t hear them. The crowds were large, but you will have a large crowd on Friday, too, which is mostly pro-life people. You’re going to have a lot of people coming on Friday. And I will say this, and I didn’t realize this. But I was told. You will have a very large crowd of people. I don’t know as large or larger. Some people said it will be larger. Pro-life people and they say the press doesn’t cover them.

MUIR: I don’t want to compare crowd sizes again. I – I—I–

TRUMP: No, you should—But let me just tell you. What you do say is that the press doesn’t cover them.

MUIR: We saw the marches around the country and you are their president now. Do you sense the responsibility to reach out now and to unite them? For those women, men and children who marched who are watching this, what would you say to them?

TRUMP: I do, but I have to also say, we just had an election. A few weeks ago. And they voted in many cases, and some cases they didn’t vote I imagine. And we did have an election. With that being said, absolutely have responsibility to everybody, including people that didn’t vote for Donald Trump. Totally.

Without getting into the esoterica of comparing crowd sizes what Trump says, in this case, is absolutely true.

During their morning and evening news shows, the three broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) covered the women’s march 129 times more than they did the 2016 March for Life last year. And it’s anyone’s guess as to whether or not they will cover the 2017 March for Life Friday.

ABC, CBS and NBC spent at least one hour, 15 minutes and 18 seconds on the women’s march. But for the 2016 March for Life, they devoted an embarrassing 35 seconds (22 seconds following the march, 13 before).

As I’m not Jim Hoft or Warner Todd Huston, I like to actually verify anything I write from two or more sources. Since Newsbusters is an advocacy group, I went to the ABC website itself to get their transcript.

Guess what? This entire exchange is simply omitted from the ABC transcript.

Is it a clerical oversight? Did they not like seeing powdered and blow-dried empty suit that runs their news operation stuttering away? Did it interfere with their narrative about Trump? Did they, in short, intentionally cut it? I don’t know anything more than that, but the omission seems to make Donald Trump’s point about March for Life coverage in a much stronger way than Trump did. In other words, that they’re so committed to not covering the size of the March they couldn’t even let this point stand on their website.
