Representative John Conyers, who has paid a settlement from your tax dollars to someone who accused him of sexual harassment, has announced that he is stepping down from his position as Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee:

Nancy Pelosi, who only this morning expressed support for Conyers,

wasted no time in kicking his underwear-clad corpse:

Conyers still denies the allegation and, rather charmingly, believes that the evidence should be examined before curb-stomping him. I think it is safe to say that Conyers’ remaining tenure in Congress is going to be short. Pelosi’s attack signals the Democrats on the House Ethics Committee to show no mercy.

Conyers’ lawyer has threatened to expose other Congressional malefactors, so the games may just be starting.
