Fox News is reporting that recovery of the famous emails lost to a “glitch” is now underway. Sorry, no more details beyond this.

This is not surprising.

As I posted a short while ago, text messages are covered by the Federal Records Act. They have to be archived. They have to be indexed so they can be recovered in FOIA cases and for litigation.

The higher end federal agencies, of which the FBI is one, have systems that detect failure of back-up by either mobile devices or your desktop. This step will tell us how the deletion happened.
