Last week, Missouri Senator Josh Hawley spoke at the National Conservatism Conference. The target of his speech was the social/economic class that has made a fetish out of globalism and which sees nationalism and patriotism as something to be stomped out.

What particularly drew the ire of his critics was the use of the word “cosmopolitan” which is, as we’re told, a “dog whistle” for “Jews.”

As I pointed out in my post, Josh Hawley Is Accused Of Anti-Semitism Because The Left Can Hear Dog Whistles, the only political party that has an anti-Semitism problem is the Democrats who have embraced the nuttiness of AOC, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar and the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions Movement, and you’re the only one hearing the dog whistle, it sorta means that you’re the dog.

Now Hawley has responded with an unusual person endorsing his critique.

This video shows President Barack Obama decrying a “cosmopolitan” and “rootless” class that places financial interests above the national good. The number of people claiming he was referring to Jews was about zero. There is a good reason for that. He wasn’t and, obviously, neither was Hawley.

What the attack on Hawley shows is that there is a ready-made army of left wing pseudo-intellectuals who stand ready to manufacture charges of anti-Semitism and racism at the drop of a hat. They probably don’t actually believe what they are saying…in fact, one hopes they are guffawing and drinking good bourbon as they write otherwise one would consider them to be garden variety sociopaths…but they know it is important to accuse anyone on the right who is moving the ball down the field of some “-ism” in order to dirty them up a bit.
