Last week the Wall Street Journal kicked off a speculative boom with a piece that stated that President Trump, with varying degrees of seriousness, had floated the idea of buying Greenland to his advisors. Hijinks ensued.

I’d thought it was a joke…until this evening.

President Trump was scheduled to visit Denmark in September and now he’s postponed the trip.

Did he postpone it because Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said she wasn’t interested in the sale and that was the main reason for his visit?

Did Frederiksen misread or deliberately misinterpret a jest and engage reflexive Euro-trash NeverTrumpery and torque off Trump?

Let’s face it, it could be most anything and I won’t pretend that your interpretation is better than mine.
