TOTALLY LIT. Ted Cruz Wipes the Studio Floor With Sleepy Chuck Todd Over Ukraine Helping Hillary in 2016

Subcommittee Chairman Ted Cruz, R-Texas, speaks as Federal Aviation Administration Acting Administrator Daniel Elwell, National Transportation Safety Board Chairman Robert Sumwalt, and Department of Transportation Inspector General Calvin Scovel appear before a Senate Transportation subcommittee hearing on commercial airline safety, on Capitol Hill, Wednesday, March 27, 2019, in Washington. Two recent Boeing 737 MAX crashes, in Ethiopia and Indonesia, which killed nearly 350 people, have lead to the temporary grounding of models of the aircraft and to increased scrutiny of the FAA’s delegation of a number of aspects of the certification process to the aircraft manufacturers themselves. The drum the media has been beating since the House Intelligence Committee began holding hearings on the Ukraine folderol has been that Ukrainian interference in the 2016 election has been debunked. Debunked in left-speak is anything that is so unpleasant to hear that you have to clap your hands over your ears, close your eyes, and start shouting “lalalalala!” We know Ukraine meddled in the 2016 elections because the media has reported on that for three years.

A couple of years ago, Chuck Grassley began inquiries on the connection between Ukraine and DNC apparatchik Alexandra “Drop the” Chalupa:

And just last week, it was announced that the investigation will involve transcribed interviews led by GOP legal counsel.

Republican senators, across the board, are becoming more noisy about the issue

Exactly no part of this smells like “debunked” is an accurate term. GOP senators are not a breed noted for going out on the limb.

So when Senator Ted Cruz appeared on Meet the Press, it was a given that Democrat shill, Chuck Todd, would bring the subject up. But what he got was not what he expected.

It started innocently enough (see 5:56).

CHUCK TODD:

Do you believe Ukraine meddled in the American election in 2016?

SEN. TED CRUZ:

I do. And I think there’s considerable evidence of that.

Then the fun began

SEN. TED CRUZ:

Chuck, Chuck, let me point out a game that the media is playing. You know, a question that you’ve asked a number of people is you’ve said to senators, sort of aghast, “Do you believe that Ukraine, and not Russia, interfered in the election?” Now, that, that, in a court of law, would be struck as a misleading question. Of course Russia interfered in our election. Nobody looking at the evidence disputes that. What the media is pretending is —

CHUCK TODD:

But the President of the United States does.

SEN. TED CRUZ:

Look, on the evidence, Russia clearly interfered in our election. But here’s the game the media is playing. Because Russia interfered, the media pretends nobody else did. Ukraine blatantly interfered in our election. The sitting ambassador from Ukraine wrote an op-ed blasting Donald Trump —

CHUCK TODD:

Do you know why —

SEN. TED CRUZ:

— during the election season. —

CHUCK TODD:

Do you know why he did that?

SEN. TED CRUZ:

— That is unusual.

CHUCK TODD:

What did Donald Trump, what did Donald Trump, as a candidate, say about Ukraine and Crimea during the election that might’ve inspired the ambassador?

SEN. TED CRUZ:

So you’re saying they had disagreements with Donald Trump —

CHUCK TODD:

No, I’m just saying —

SEN. TED CRUZ:

— and they wanted Hillary Clinton to get elected.

CHUCK TODD:

Okay, so they wrote an op-ed —

SEN. TED CRUZ:

I’ll tell you a Ukrainian parliamentarian —

CHUCK TODD:

They wrote an op-ed. That is the difference — what you’re saying is, you’re saying a pickpocket, which essentially is a Hill op-ed, compared to Bernie Madoff and Vladimir Putin. You’re trying to make — you’re trying to equal — make them both seem equal. I don’t understand that.

SEN. TED CRUZ:

Chuck, Chuck, I understand that you want to dismiss Ukrainian interference, because, A) they were trying to get Hillary Clinton elected, which is what the vast majority of the media wanted, anyway. And B) it’s inconvenient for the narrative. You know, it’s hysterical. Two years ago, there was article after article after article, in the mainstream media, about Ukrainian interference in the elections. But now, the Democrats have no evidence of a crime, no evidence of violating the law. And so suddenly, Ukrainian interference is treated as the media clutches their pearls. “Oh, my goodness. You can’t say that.” Last week, Chuck, you called Senator John Kennedy, basically, a stooge for Putin.

CHUCK TODD:

I did not. Don’t basically —

SEN. TED CRUZ:

The press needs to stop being ridiculous and —

CHUCK TODD:

Are you concerned —

SEN. TED CRUZ:

— acting like they work for Adam Schiff.

We know Ukraine meddled. Whether the value of them taking out Paul Manafort by funneling information and disinformation on him exceeded the level of meddling the Russians accomplished by $100,000 in Facebook ads and some Twitter trolls is debatable. What is NOT debatable is this. The Ukrainian government collaborated with and actively assisted the Clinton campaign with the sole goal of electing her. The Russians had one goal, according to the intelligence community, less John Brennan’s totally corrupt CIA, that was to sow discord in American politics.

Eventually, the story of foreign interference in 2016 is going to be told and when it is the people that pushed the Russia Hoax will finally look as embarrassing to themselves as they do to sane people right now.
