As Joe Biden lapped pudding from a plastic bowl and sent his wife, Frau Doktor Professor Jill Biden (our next Surgeon General, I’m told) out on Zoom to spread the Gospel of Riots and Redistribution to the faithful, President Trump was back on the campaign trail in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. North Carolina promises to be a key state for the GOP in 2020, as not only does President Trump need the electoral votes, but Senator Thom Tillis has been the target of a political hit concerning campaign donations. And the left has one of their loonier candidates running for the House in NC-11:

Joe Biden and his party spent the entire summer cheering on the rioters, rampaging through Democrat-run cities, falsely labeling them as “peaceful protesters.” We call you peaceful protesters. You know why? Because they have rules in these Democrat-run states that if you’re campaigning you can’t have more than five people. They did that for me. If you’re going to church…you can’t go to church anymore. You can’t go to church. You can’t go to church, you can’t do anything, you have to stay in your house, but if you’re willing to riot running down Main Street, if you’re willing to riot and stand on top of each others face and do whatever the hell you want to do you’re allowed to do that because you are considered a peaceful protest. Hours before President Trump arrived in Winston-Salem, N.C., for a campaign rally on Tuesday, the county’s top Republican official issued a warning: The president better be wearing a mask.
“It’s been ordered by the governor,” David Plyler, a Trump supporter and GOP chair of the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners, told the Winston-Salem Journal. “When in Rome, do as the Romans do. When in North Carolina, do as the governor says.”
But when the president emerged Tuesday evening to address a cheering group of supporters, his face was fully exposed, a likely violation of the state’s coronavirus rules.
The same was true of many of the supporters behind his podium, especially those high up in the stands and out of view. And in fact, the whole event appears to have defied restrictions from North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper (D), who has limited outdoor mass gatherings at 50 people under the state’s current phase of reopening.
Sometimes I wonder why I chose to affiliate with the Republican party. Across the nation, Republican party organizations attract idiots and grifters the way Velcro attracts lint. Why a GOP official would go along with the utter nonsense promulgated by Roy Cooper under the guise of “public health” regulations is just beyond me. No one who was inclined to vote GOP is going to change their vote because Trump blew off wearing a mask, an act that all but the most credulous realize is strictly virtue signaling.
The contrast between Trump and Biden is becoming clear to even the dimmest of bulbs. One man is trying to get America past its inchoate fear and back to normalcy. The other is cowering in his basement, eating bugs, and dreaming about the grifting opportunities available to his brother and son should he become president.
