In the war of words, score one for Senator Ted Cruz.

From a Thursday airing of California’s “John and Ken Show” radio broadcast:

“There’s no doubt that Donald Trump is the Kim Kardashian presidential candidate,” Cruz said. “He sits on Twitter and makes a lot of noise, but he has no solutions to fixing the problem.”

Then general idea is that like Kardashian, Trump is little more than reality TV fluff to feed the low-info crowd.

Let’s examine other similarities between Donald Trump and Kim Kardashian, which Cruz may have missed.

  • Both gained their wealth from Daddy. Kim’s dad was celebrity lawyer, Robert Kardashian, best known for being part of the OJ Simpson defense team in his 1995 murder trial. Trump’s father, Fred Trump, was a landlord and real estate developer, who left his son a small fortune in inheritance. There’s no doubt that Donald grew that fortune, but that was also in large part to government loopholes and other less-than-savory practices.
  • Both are vacuous and self-absorbed. One spends all day posting nude or near-nude pics on Instagram and the other spends all night tweeting rants against perceived enemies and slights on Twitter.
  • Both have a tendency to surround themselves with mindless sycophants. For Kim, look no further than Kanye West and the whole Kardashian clan. For Trump, Fox News (Sean Hannity and Eric Bolling, in particular), Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, and the entire Branch Trumpidian tribe.
  • One has a massive ass. The other is a massive ass.

I’m sure there are other ways that Trump can be compared to Kardashian, but it suffices to say the Cult of Personality, championed by reality TV rhetoric, will be the end of our republic. It’s time to discard this nightmare candidacy and let the serious patriots arise.
