The words of a leader:

The issue of redefining gender and basic norms of privacy will be resolved in the near future in the United States court system for not only North Carolina, but the entire nation. I strongly encourage all public and private institutions to both respect and allow our nation’s judicial system to proceed without economic threats or political retaliation toward the 22 states that are currently challenging government overreach. Sadly, the NCAA, a multi-billion dollar, tax-exempt monopoly, failed to show this respect at the expense of our student athletes and hard-working men and women.

This was the statement today from North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory, in response to the pathetic position of the ACC, who chose to fall in line with the leftist ideology and totalitarian tactics of the NCAA.

The Atlantic Coast Conference is following the NCAA’s lead in announcing Wednesday that it has decided to relocate its neutral-site championship events from North Carolina because of the state’s recently enacted legislation regarding gender and bathrooms.

The law, which among other things bans transgender people from using the bathroom corresponding with their gender identity, was a leading factor in the NCAA’s decision Monday to pull seven championship events from the state.

The idea that men and women are different has become the equivalent of hate speech to our federal government, and to those with a social justice agenda.

The social justice agenda is one of cultural Marxism and the breaking down of the family and all norms.

As the family goes, so goes the society, and this is bigger than a few music acts, sports games, or a do-nothing Democrat attorney general, with ambitions above his current office.

Just as Obama’s Department of (social) Justice has tried to make an example out of North Carolina, so is the NCAA and ACC.

All for an agenda.

In a statement, the ACC Council of Presidents said it “reaffirmed our collective commitment to uphold the values of equality, diversity, inclusion and non-discrimination.”

“Every one of our 15 universities is strongly committed to these values and therefore, we will continue to host ACC Championships at campus sites,” the council said in a statement, consistent with the NCAA’s announcement earlier in the week. “We believe North Carolina House Bill 2 is inconsistent with these values, and as a result, we will relocate all neutral site championships for the 2016-17 academic year. All locations will be announced in the future from the conference office.”

The relocated events include women’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s golf, baseball and the football conference championship previously scheduled for Dec. 3 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

Clemson University President James P. Clements, who also chairs the conference council, acknowledged in a statement that the decision “was not an easy one but it is consistent with the shared values of inclusion and non-discrimination at all of our institutions.”

Right. No conflict of interest from a rival state’s college president being a part of this despicable charade.

Of course, Hillary Clinton took off the oxygen mask long enough to praise this oppressive move, so all the usual suspects have chimed in.

This will come down to a fight in the courts, as Governor McCrory has said. That is truly tragic, because what is morally right and good is not up for debate and it extends beyond any man-made system.

Whatever happens, good people will have to assess priorities and take a stand.
