Trump Plays the Protective Father of DACA Recipients (NOBODY Wants Them Taken Care of More)

What a metamorphosis.

Trump burst onto the political scene in June 2015, riding a golden escalator and declaring that Mexico wasn’t sending us their best. They were sending us murderers, drug dealers and rapists.

We were going to have a wall – a big, beautiful wall – and all those here illegally, that assortment of criminal riff-raff, they were GONE!

So much MAGA!

Now, it seems those MAGA caps are about to be replaced with DACA toppers, courtesy of a gutless, faithless President Trump.

Hey… Don’t blame me. I, along with many others told you not to trust the guy.

While speaking with CNBC, President Trump explained his newly evolved position.

Trump said during an interview with CNBC’s Joe Kernen that “nobody wants to take care of DACA more than myself and the Republican party.”

Nobody.

“Look, we’re going to try and make a deal on DACA. We have a good chance of making it. What we need is we need the wall, we need security, we need security at the border,” Trump said.

Sure. We need those things. We need a competent, dignified, and at least minimally trustworthy president, as well. We didn’t get it, though, did we?

In exchange for amnesty for nearly 2 million DACA-eligible recipients [illegals], he wants American taxpayers to foot the bill, to the tune of $25 billion, to build that wall he talked about.

You know. He wants to lock the doors after those he painted as criminals are already in the house. And you get to pay for it, not Mexico, like he promised.

Speaking of those murderers, drug dealers, and rapists…

“These are good people, these are people that should be able to stay in this country. We’re going to solve the DACA problem. But we also want to solve a tremendous problem on the southern border, which is crime,” Trump said.

Oh.

Trump went on to talk about MS-13 as the reason for tougher border security.

He’s not wrong. A good start would be giving border patrol actual ammunition, rather than bean bags to defend themselves against bad guys coming across with very real, very deadly weapons. Also, put them AT the border, not 50 miles out.

There are fixes for border security, and all these things need to be pounded out between Republicans and Democrats. As it is now, Democrats are holding out for more than what is pretty much everything they wanted.

Just a question: How is Amnesty Don’s proposal better than the “Gang of 8” claptrap that so many wanted to hang around Senator Marco Rubio’s neck for all time?

Trick question.

It’s not.
