Conservative Panelist Lights Up CPAC With a Necessary Truth Bomb

OH – This was magnificent.

It almost makes me wish I’d made it to CPAC, this year.

Conservative columnist Mona Charen, strolled up into the joint and dropped a massive truth bomb – and it didn’t go over well.

It was a thing of beauty.

Charen is a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, as well as a writer for the National Review.

She sat on a panel at CPAC, and was apparently asked about women’s issues. Specifically, she was asked about the Left’s treatment of women, in this new age of Trumpism.

I don’t know if they expected her to say she liked having her genitals randomly grabbed by rich men, or what.

What they heard wasn’t what they expected.

“I’m actually going to twist this around a bit and say that I’m disappointed in people on our side for being hypocrites about sexual harassers and abusers of women who are in our party, who are sitting in the White House, who brag about their extramarital affairs, who brag about mistreating women,” she said.

So. Much. Boom.

She’s absolutely correct. If you support Trump, you have no right to be outraged by crappy treatment of women from anybody on the left.

Declining to mention Trump by name, Charen said conservatives are guilty of “look[ing] the other way” when it comes to the president and other Republican men who have faced allegations of sexual misconduct.

“This was a party that was ready to … endorse Roy Moore for Senate in the state of Alabama even though he was a credibly accused child molester,” Charen said.

“You cannot claim that you stand for women, and put up with that,” she told the crowd, as several members of the audience shouted, “Not true!”

Yeah. It’s true. It’s really true.

And it’s disgusting.

Charen was on fire. The men weren’t the only ones getting punched in the throat.

Earlier in the discussion, she blasted CPAC for inviting Marion Le Pen, the niece of Marine Le Pen, French former far-right wing presidential wannabe.

Yeah, she tends to drift a little racist.

“There was quite an interesting person who was on this stage the other day. Her name is Marion Le Pen,” Charen told the crowd, suggesting Le Pen was only invited because of her surname.

“And the Le Pen name is a disgrace,” she added. “Her grandfather is racist and a Nazi. She claims that she stands for him. And the fact that CPAC invited her is a disgrace,” Charen said.

Charen had to know that she wasn’t going to win any friends with this crowd, the majority of them true believers in the populist nonsense that got Trump to the White House. She was later seen leaving the conference hall with a 3-person security detail.

Cheers to her, however, for saying what needed to be said. She didn’t adjust her speech to suit the crowd she was addressing. She just laid out the truth.

Good work.
