'Misfits and Weirdos': Group of Actors Slammed for Signing Letter Accusing Israel of 'War Crimes'

With Israel still counting their dead following the brutal terrorist attack by Hamas not even two weeks ago, a group of Hollywood elites thought this was the perfect time to accuse the victim — Israel — of "war crimes." More than 3,000 actors and musicians have signed a letter accusing Israel of reducing "much of Gaza to rubble" in "a crime and a catastrophe" that has left "the spectre of death" hanging over the territory.

This wouldn't be the first time a group of pampered performers put their foot in it, of course, erroneously thinking that their artistic achievements somehow made them smarter than the rest of the world. This time, however, the timing is unconscionable, and the message is clear: In defending itself against an act of terrorism, Israel is the bad actor.

The letter goes on to say:

Our governments are not only tolerating war crimes but aiding and abetting them. There will come a time when they are held to account for their complicity. But for now, while condemning every act of violence against civilians and every infringement of international law whoever perpetrates them, our obligation is to do all we can to bring an end to the unprecedented cruelty being inflicted on Gaza.

We support the global movement against the destruction of Gaza and the mass displacement of the Palestinian people. We demand that our governments end their military and political support for Israel’s actions.

We call for an immediate ceasefire and the opening of Gaza’s crossings to allow humanitarian aid to enter unhindered.

Notice anything missing? That would be even the slightest mention of October 7, 2023, the day evil came for Israel.

No mention of the hostages being held in Gaza. No mention of the children ripped from their families — families who now wait in agony with empty arms. No mention of grandmothers being dragged from their homes and held in Gaza as human shields. No mention of entire families being wiped out. No mention of the poor boy who survived and had to bury his entire family. No mention of the countless women who suffered unimaginably at the hands of their brutal terrorist attackers.

The leftist hivemind is a terrible thing to behold, especially when it's convinced it knows geopolitics. They call for humanity when they offer none themselves.

Now, who in their right mind would sign on to such a thing? Here's a partial list:

  • Tilda Swinton
  • Charles Dance
  • Steve Coogan
  • Maxine Peake
  • Miriam Margolyes

Many of these actors are from the U.K., and some political leaders there have rightly called the letter "drivel." David Mencer, the former director of Labour Friends of Israel, went even further, saying:

I invite this group of misfits and weirdos to rescue their ailing careers and try their chances as artists in Gaza under the Hamas regime. I promise to sign a letter when they are locked up and beg for their release.

That is the only correct response to this foolhardy letter, and it's the best way to take a pin to the Hollywood bubble.

One last thing: Some have called Israel's fight for survival a battle of the civilized versus the barbaric. These Hollywood elites have chosen to side with the barbarians. Keep that in mind the next time you head to the movie theater.
