Michelle Wolf BOMBS Everyone at White House Correspondents Dinner

Tell Us A Funny Joke.

Well…two years in a row the White House Correspondents Dinner featured a comedian from Comedy Central (Hasan Minhaj last year) and for the second year in a row they lit up the room. I fully understand why POTUS 45 skipped these.

Michelle Wolf, though, stepped it up a notch.

Now I’m not going to sit here and complain that this is the worst thing ever. I grew up listening to Howard Stern, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock and Don Rickles so I’m used to some harsh stuff. I know that comedy is supposed to make us squirm on OCCASION, but overall it should make you laugh at things we do or observe every day.

I watched the whole event and yes Michelle Wolf did have some funny lines.

Here are some that can be put in print here at Red State.

“Trump is also an idea guy. He’s got loads of ideas. You’ve got to love him for that,” she said. “He wants to give teachers guns. And I support that because then they can sell them for things they need — like supplies.”

“Mike Pence is what happens when Anderson Cooper isn’t gay,” she said, comparing the vice president to the CNN host.

Pence, Wolf quipped, is the kind of guy that “brushes his teeth and then drinks orange juice and thinks ‘mhmm!’ ”

Those are mild shots in today’s toxic culture and it felt good-natured.

The rest of the program it got ugly, crass and at some points just flat out stupid. Her second favorite target of the night after Trump was Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and Wolf went nuclear.

“We are graced with Sarah’s presence tonight,” Wolf said of Sanders. “Every time Sarah steps up to the podium, I get excited. I’m not really sure what we’re going to get, you know? A press briefing, a bunch of lies or divided into softball teams. It’s shirts and skins, and this time don’t be such a little bitch, Jim Acosta.”

“I actually really like Sarah. I think she’s very resourceful,” Wolf continued. “But she burns facts and then she uses that ash to create a perfect smokey eye. Like maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s lies.”

That is just what I can print.

In comedy, just like radio, silence is NOT golden and even on T.V., you could hear the air being sucked out of the room. That may be cool for an invite to Real Time With Bill Maher but for the “living in the moment” part of the show, you might be dancing to close to the line of this is not brutally funny just brutal.

Reaction on Twitter was all over the board.

The first amendment is alive and well as long as you are not a conservative on Facebook, Twitter, or don’t want to bake a cake in Indiana for a gay wedding. Those are just the rules with the very people who were patting themselves on the back about how crucial and wonderful they are at the WHCD.

The real neat trick is that this very association of the 4th estate paid Ms. Wolf to show up and light the place ablaze.  Being most of the press might not like Trump they got their money’s worth.

After watching this event I personally was not offended although I did squirm a bit. Mostly I was left scratching my head wondering when the witty funny stuff was going to happen.

I’m left concluding after watching the 2018 version of nerd prom, that Michelle Wolf is the comedic version of Rachel Dolezal.

Pretending to be something she is not.
