You know that Nancy Pelosi is just LOVING the ladies of the “Progressive Cheer Squad” right about now with their unique terminology.

With the election of the “Squad” in 2018, the Democratic caucus has been dealing with how to keep these new members in line and not going all rogue. That mission has so far, gone very badly.

Today in Minnesota, Repreantvies Rahsida Talib And Ilhan Omar explained how they had been persecuted because they could have gone on a Congressional junket a week before but choose to do a trip on their own for political purposes and Israel said…nope.

From CBS News

Standing side by side, Democratic Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar forcefully denounced the controversial decision by the Israeli government to deny them entry into the country, casting the travel restrictions as part of a broader effort to suppress voices of dissent against the treatment of Palestinians in occupied and disputed territories.

“Netanyahu’s decision to deny us entry might be unprecedented for members of Congress,” Omar said during a press conference on Monday, referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “But it is the policy of his government when it comes to Palestinians. This is the policy of his government when it comes to anyone who holds views that threaten the occupation.”

Let’s do a FULL STOP here.

There is no occupation in Israel. Words have meaning and you are not using the word occupation correctly. The loose band of arabs called Palestinians who lived in the area and fought the Jews living there since the end of World War II has lost every war that they fought in. You don’t get to demand the terms when you get beat 3 or 4 times and get to keep land. This is not even ancient history but modern day and there is actually film of this.

The best chance at peace and the Israelis giving back some land was during the Camp David II accords with Bill Clinton in 2000. The leader of the P.L.O. at the time, Yasser Arafat decided that he did not want any of the West Bank given back.

Whose fault is that?

So blaming the Israeli government for not giving in to a P.R. stunt is a great talking point but does nothing to move along the cause you claim to hold so dear. Also, it is going to piss off your boss in the caucus who also is a woman and she is feeling a bit scorned right now.

We all know how that goes and it won’t end well for the newcomers with a political pro like Nancy Pelosi doing the scorning.

Good luck.
