Now that the House managers have presented their case of why they think Donald Trump should be removed from office, the Senators now have their turn to speak about all that they have seen these past couple weeks. If I were them, I would try to change the rule of only drinking water or milk while the Senate is in Impeachment mode too hard liquor because we all know if Trump wins in November they will try this again.

Sen. Ted Cruz used his time on the floor yesterday to break down this debacle the House hoisted on the country and as usual, the Senator from Texas did not mince words. Here is part of his speech where he breaks down what they had to sit through with this farce.

“Over the course of the last two weeks, we have heard hour upon hour upon hour of argument. The House proceeding heard testimony from 18 different witnesses. The Senate saw 193 video clips of witness testimony presented here on the Senate floor. The Senate posed 180 separate questions from Senators to the House Managers or the White House defense team. And within the record were over 28,000 pages of documents, including the single most important evidence in this case, which is the actual transcript of the conversation at issue between President Trump and the President of Ukraine.

The actual conversation of the phone call between the two leaders should have put this to bed. Also, the fact that not ONE person came forward that said the President ordered the money to be held up for the reasons Schiff and crew stated. Yet the Democrats were locked in after the Mueller report was promised to deliver the goods and when it failed they had to scramble to put together a plan B.

This debacle was that plan.

Sen. Cruz and his fellow Senators were put through a mess of a case that was barely held together with the crushed hopes and dreams plus tears of the House Democrats who were fantasizing of Trump being removed from the White House in handcuffs. Those hopes will officially come crashing down Hinernberg style later today when the Senate votes to acquit.

Cruz sums up why near the end of his speech why this ending will occur and quite frankly should have never happened.

“This was a partisan impeachment and we are right now in an election year. The voters are voting and it is up to the voters to decide which policies they want to continue. The House Managers have abused the constitutional process by trying to use impeachment to settle a partisan score.

Exactly.

There is an election in November and the goal should be to reelect the president and make sure that Sen. Cruz and his fellow Republicans stay in the majority in the upper chamber to crush any more nonsense that the Speaker and her crew send over.

Let’s work to do that.

You can watch Sen. Cruz’s full speech right here and I would suggest you take the 10 minutes to do so.
