The Collapse Begins in South Carolina: Clay Aiken Abandons Biden For Klobuchar

No, CLAY NO
CLAY, Please Don’t Go

Way to kick a guy when he is down Clay. Even though Aiken is from North Carolina and Joe Bidens FIREWALL is in the southern one, this is a hurtful move.

Former Vice President Joe Biden, on the heels of a disappointing finish in Iowa and a soon to be humiliating @$$ kicking in New Hamshire, just witnessed the beginning of his collapse in South Carolina. Former American Idol Clay Aiken just switched his crucial endorsement from Biden to Amy Klobuchar.

That has gotta sting.

Clay explains his excruciating decision in an opinion piece he wrote today for a national paper.

From USA Today

Let me be clear: I love Joe Biden. My support for the former vice president has been genuine. I remain grateful for the years of leadership and the scores of accomplishments that he has given to our country. My prior support for him in this year’s primary was based on my belief that he would be the candidate best suited to take on President Donald Trump in November. I have not been alone in feeling that way.

However, as the voters in early states have begun to have their say, like so many of my fellow Democrats, I found myself grappling with the options and realized that the Democratic Party of 2020 is ready for a fresher voice. Klobuchar is that voice.

You love him enough to abandon him and treat him like everyone else is right now,  like yesterday’s paper with a story about a crazy guy saying odd things like what my colleague Alex Parker wrote about here today at Red State… Thank Goodness: Joe Biden Believes in ‘Rational’ Gun Policy – Like Not Having ’50 Clips in a Weapon’

If this is how you treat your friends Clay how do you treat your pals?

This is just the latest indication that Joe Biden is about ready to bite the dust for the third time running for President. That really is a helluva record. I mean, Hillary only blew it twice.

Now that the Idol vote is changing to someone who also has no shot in hell of winning and with Bloomberg lurking to run the table on Super Tuesday, Joe should gracefully bow out. After tomorrow’s contest in New Hamshire, his lead in South Carolina will be all but gone in less than a week and there is really no need to continue running on fumes.

Unless you just want to hang around to make us laugh.
