Biden Biographer Says It Would Not Be a 'Total Shock' if He Dropped out of 2024 Race

Does it seem to you that a message might be coming to us from people around the Bidens (not Jill or Hunter) that it's time for Joe to step aside from running for reelection for POTUS and pursue a full-time gig as an ice cream flavor tester?

Sure seems like it to me.

We have had a flurry of stories about Joe Biden and his lapses and missteps here at RedState, and about how he could be replaced. One of the latest is that the Senator from Texas, Ted Cruz, believes he knows who and how it could be done. Ted Cruz Has a Very Interesting Theory on Who Will Replace Joe Biden in 2024.

From that article...

At 80-years-old, it only gets worse from here. Is Kamala Harris going to end up taking his place? Sen. Ted Cruz doesn't think so. Instead, there's another person he thinks could parachute in: Michelle Obama.

How would that work, you ask? Sen. Cruz explains.

“Here’s the scenario that I think is perhaps the most likely and most dangerous,” Cruz said on his “Verdict with Ted Cruz” podcast. “In August of 2024, the Democrat kingmakers jettison Joe Biden and parachute in Michelle Obama.”

Cruz explained that by running Michelle Obama as the party’s candidate, the Democrats could “avoid the problems” of having to choose a candidate among political figures like Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Vice President Kamala Harris and California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

That is one helluva theory and sounds like a House of Cards episode, but then again, so does Joe Biden running and winning from his basement in 2020.

I'm leaning more towards the notion of Joe being given a stroll on the boardwalk somewhere and told that his time at 1600 Pennsylvania is coming to an end, and he is NOT running. Whoever has this talk with him will have to make up stories about stuff he has made up over the years to comfort him, and then the chat ends with America loving him for this decision which is that proverbial cherry on top of the crap sundae which has been his presidency.

So imagine my non-shocked face when I read that the person who just did a biography on Biden's first two years in the White House would also not be shocked if he just gave up much earlier than August of next year. We had a piece last month from Bonchie, titled Joe Biden's Own Biographer Tosses Him Under the Bus which had said biographer covering another angle of Joe getting called out.

When I read this quote from another article right here about Joe dropping out, I was not really stunned, as I think this is the way it will go.

A biographer of President Biden said that while it would be a surprise, it “wouldn’t be a total shock” if the president drops out of the 2024 race by the end of the calendar year.

The biographer, Franklin Foer, continues...

“I would say it would, it would be a surprise to me. But it wouldn’t be a total surprise,” Foer said, adding that “it wouldn’t be a total shock.”

“When he talks about his life, he uses this word, fate, constantly,” he said. “Joe Biden is a very religious guy, and fate is a word loaded with religious meaning. And he always talks about, ‘He can’t say where fate goes.’ And so I always, when I hear that, to me, it’s the ellipses in the sentence when he’s talking about his own future.”

For a guy who gets so many things wrong about his past, how in the hell does he get the latitude to predict his own future? Mostly, the Washington Press Corp, but I digress.

I would love to say that Joe Biden has just been an unmitigated failure as President of the United States, yet I know better because I watched him in the United States Senate in the '80s, '90s, and 2000s and am well aware he was also an unmitigated disaster as United States Senator. So, the fact that he has been a spectacular failure as a leader of this country is not surprising and brings me zero joy.

The other thing I'm pretty confident about in regards to Joe Biden is that the party he belongs to will not continue to allow him to meander around and blow their chances of keeping the White House in 2024.

The Democrats are much more cutthroat about this business.

They rally around ideas, and whoever will embrace them and help Implement them will be shoved to the front of the line. If the current rube gets in the way, they get moved aside.

The Republicans rally around personalities and are not as issue-oriented, unfortunately.

In other words, if Joe Biden were a Republican rolling into the 2024 elections, the GOP officials would be all smiles and telling everybody what a great job he was doing while the evening news would be showing him falling up or down stairs. There would never be any discussion, let alone a serious one, of how Joe would need to step aside.

That is why the Democrats get legislation passed that changes this country and puts it on the wrong track, and it never gets repealed or changed.

I don't see how Joe Biden is the nominee on the ballot in November of 2024. However, he avoids that fate is yet to be determined, and that is what makes politics both infuriating and fun to watch.
