Bernie Sanders Wants a Vote on Funding for Israel That Will Make Biden, Democrats Sweat in Fear

Even though the world is a crazy place, I still feel as fine as I did when I wrote this diddy a few months back.

'Tis the End of the World as We Know It... And I Feel Fine

Some people in public life--and private, for that matter--are just committed to their principles and craft. Consistently, you can sit back and watch them apply their trade and build or unravel things, so much so that you have to marvel at them.

Independent senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders is one of those people. I know many people who say he's crazy; if he is, he is crazy like a fox. The man is an avowed socialist and has several homes like a good capitalist would, and even though Joe Biden has governed more like Sanders would as President, Bernie still wants to chop him down at the knees.

A true man of the elite, who's committed to chopping down another elitist in all of its faux man of the people glory.

It should be no surprise to anybody that Bernie is looking to stick a fork in Joe Biden over the United States' support of Israel in its battle to wipe out Hamas. Anyone with a shred of decency and an idea of world history understands that Hamas has been given more than enough chances to come clean and abandon terrorism. Their continued reluctance to do so has only harmed the people they say they are trying to help and claim to represent.

So, when I read this right here, about how Bernie has devised a way to put his fellow Democrats on the hot seat along with Biden, I was not surprised in any way, shape, or form.

In a notable test Tuesday, Sen. Bernie Sanders is forcing colleagues to vote on record whether to investigate human rights abuses in the Israel-Hamas war, a step toward potentially limiting U.S. military aid to Israel as its devastating attacks on Gaza grind past 100 days.

The Senate vote, a first of its kind tapping into a decades-old law, would require the U.S. State Department to, within 30 days, produce a report on whether the Israeli war effort in Gaza is violating human rights and international accords. If so, U.S. military aid to Israel, long assured without question, could be quickly halted.

While the Senate is unlikely to approve the measure, the vote by senators will begin to reveal the depth of unease among U.S. lawmakers over Israel’s prosecution of the war against Hamas. With no apparent end to the bombardment, Israel's attacks against Palestinians, an attempt to root out Hamas leaders, are viewed by some as disproportional to the initial terrorist attack on Israel.

A little while later in that article, Sanders went on to explain why he is up to what he is up to, and it is perfect Bernie Sanders nonsense, encapsulated for all to see.

“To my mind, Israel has the absolute right to defend itself from Hamas' barbaric terrorist attack on October 7, no question about that," Sanders told AP during an interview Monday ahead of the vote.

“But what Israel does not have a right to do — using military assistance from the United States — does not have the right to go to war against the entire Palestinian people," said Sanders, the independent from Vermont. "And in my view, that’s what has been happening."

Now, nobody with a decent sense of history will ever say that the senior Senator from Vermont understands the world around him clearly and concisely, or of the events before he was born onto the Big Blue Marble we call Earth.

We know this for sure because Bernie Sanders is still not admitting that Karl Marx was full of hot air, and that his theories on how economies operate based on the goofy premise of collectivism have never worked, nor will they ever.

The time for the two-state solution--that the Israelis and the Palestinians living side by side in the land that has historically belonged to the Jewish people--should die a much more graceful death than the Israelis whom Hamas killed on October 7th.

The time for that idea, and the United States' backing of it, should also end.

Sanders and his ilk incorrectly believe that the Palestinians who are backing Hamas actually want a territory of their own. They are half right in this assumption, and refuse to accept the reality as it is and not as they wish it would be.

Hamas doesn't want a two-state solution. They want a one-state solution, and that is for the Palestinians to govern land that they never owned and to eliminate the Jewish people from the face of the Earth.

Are there atrocities being committed right now?

Yes.

Innocent people dying is always the last resort for civilized people, and it is atrocious.

Yet, in my reading of history and particularly the inconceivably horrible event of World War II, many innocent Germans who were not in uniform died at the hands of American, British, and other Allied bombers. The same could be said for the Japanese who were killed when Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed.

Sane people do not want war but sometimes have to revert to their base instincts to keep themselves and their families, and nations, alive.

Israelis tolerated constant bombardment from Hamas and Hezbollah, with missiles flying in their territory and having shelter alarms go off, on a daily basis--much like we would a tornado siren that only happens during a storm. The time for negotiation and for trying to play nice with an enemy who openly declares they want you dead is over.

Just as the  German people unfortunately had to pay for the idiocy of the German government, and the same with the Japanese during the era of World War II, Hamas needs to be destroyed in the same manner.

Fully.

Only with that goal in mind will the region have a chance to stabilize, and the Israeli and the Palestinian peoples have an opportunity to live in peace truly.

Bernie Sanders is playing a game of trying to embarrass members of the United States Senate, to shame them for their support for Israel. Of course, Sanders is doing this to put pressure on Biden with, what could arguably be made, one slight thing he's doing correctly so far in his presidency.

Hopefully, Bernie feels the burn of this backfiring on himself, and will once again fade away into obscurity as a failed Presidential candidate whom his party of leftist whack jobs screwed.
