Steve Bannon Has a Odd Moment With Embattled Michigan GOP Chair Kristina Karamo

Steve Bannon is no stranger to controversy.

He is also a seasoned interviewer.

The former Trump administration official and continuing Trump loyalist is a MAGA machine, and I have no doubt he has not been keeping up with the nonsense going on with the Trojan Horse Kristina Karamo like moi, being I live in this state of confusion.

So when I watched a video released last night of Steve in Las Vegas at the Republican National Committee's winter meeting, and he gave a couple of minutes to embattled Michigan GOP chair Kristina Karamo, I had to take a minute and watch.

Just three minutes actually, because that's all the time she got. In watching the video below, you can see how quickly things turned.

Karamo is at the RNC winter meeting pleading for her job, which I covered in an earlier piece right here at RedState.

If you haven't been tracking what is happening to the Republican Party in Michigan, here is a brief breakdown.

On January 6th, part of the state committee meets to vote and remove the state chairperson, Kristina Karamo.

Then, on January 13th, a different group of committee members met and said Karamo was staying. On January 20th, the group that kicked out Karamo on the 6th, along with some other committee members, picked former Ambassador  Pete Hoekstra, who served under Donald Trump, to lead the Michigan GOP.

Some people might say that Michigan is a boring place in the winter, but as you can see from the above list of events just this month, it is fun if you love booze and hangovers.

Finally, the Republican National Committee has checked how they see the mess in Michigan. They say that, in their opinion, Karamo was appropriately removed and that Hoekstra was voted on to replace her according to the by-laws. Yet they will wait until after the RNC winter meeting in Vegas at the end of next week to decide.

So, for the moment, they are punting.

After Donald Trump came out and sealed the deal, saying he looks forward to working with Hoekstra, I'm guessing that gives the green light to roll after the winter meetings wrap up in Las Vegas.

Now, below is the video of Steve doing what Steve does, interviewing people on the fly LIVE at an event. Watch his face when Karamo tells him that Hoekstra has been picked to replace her and listen to her unique version of Kamala Harris's "word salad" that leaves you just as empty and confused as when the Veep does it.

While I can't say for sure, after having talked to Bannon several times, I know he's super sharp. From my vantage point, sitting here in Michigan and with his learning about the absolute mess that Karamo has made here as the chair in less than ten months since her election, you can see the manner and the posture that Bannon takes while he's putting the puzzle pieces together that somebody who he admires like Pete Hoekstra would not be getting involved in this willy-nilly.

You see, Pete Hoekstra is not a flashy individual. He's more of a nuts-and-bolts guy that can come in and straighten a ship that is damn near sunk.

I've talked to people who don't like some of the votes he took in Congress, and I understand that 100 percent. However, he's not in that capacity with this job; his only job is to organize Republicans around the state and raise money to elect them. Kristina Karamo has failed this mission so severely that I genuinely do believe that if she's not a Democrat, she sure as hell is Democrat lite.

How does that help Michigan become at least a purple state, as it did in 2016 for a minute? Of course, it doesn't.

If you want to hear more about this, I will go into a deeper dive right here, and you can hear me marvel at how Karamo gets brushed off.
