Mocking Maddow: MSNBC Host Roasted Into Next Week for Saying Network Doesn’t Air 'Untrue Things'

There are few things as rich as when someone who routinely does something turns around and admonishes you for doing it. It’d be like Joe Biden lecturing you on plagiarism, Stormy Daniels sermonizing about ethics, or Adam Schiff getting on a soap box to warn about the “dangers to democracy” when he himself embodies the concept.

Such was the case Tuesday night when MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow ludicrously claimed her network would never knowingly broadcast things they knew not to be true—despite the obvious evidence that they’ve been doing that exact thing for years.

Luckily, we have the receipts, which I will get to later.

But first, let’s let the newscaster, who makes millions despite only appearing once a week on the airwaves, speak for herself. She was discussing former President Donald Trump’s arraignment in the classified documents case and declaring in advance that she would censor his (then) upcoming speech from his Bedminster, N.J. golf club.

Watch:

She breathlessly launched into her tirade:

I need to say that former President Trump has just started making public remarks, just as he did on the evening of his first arraignment on criminal charges… Now tonight, after his arraignment on federal felony charges, he’s speaking again, this time to an audience of his supporters that’s gathered for a campaign fundraiser tonight at his Golf Club and summer home in New Jersey.

We knew heading into this that he was planning to make these remarks. We are prepared for his pre-fundraiser remarks tonight to again be essentially a [suddenly looks nauseous] Trump campaign speech.

Because of that, we do not intend to carry these remarks live.

She dropped that last line—clearly declaring her love of censorship—in a holier-than-thou, smug delivery that reeked of self-importance and virtue. But she wasn’t done. Here’s the kicker:

As we have said before, in these circumstances, there is a cost to us as a news organization to knowingly broadcast untrue things.

HA! Ha HA. Ha ha ha HAAAA! This is the anchor who prayed to the Russia Collusion story for years, made fantastical claims about the COVID pandemic and the miraculous vaccines, and treated Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) like an oracle despite the fact that almost nothing he says turns out to be true.

She continues down this path, saying she takes no “glee” in censoring the former president, yet looking like she’s just won the lottery, she’s so full of excitement. She ends her preposterous monologue by saying, “If he says anything newsworthy, we promise we will turn that right around and bring it back to you.”

Newsworthy? You may despise Trump, you may adore him, but there is no question that the saga of the first former U.S. president ever to get indicted on federal charges is the most newsworthy story in the land.

I could go on because there’s so much wrong with what she said, but perhaps a better way to expose her hypocrisy is to let Maddow make a fool out of herself by playing her past “reporting” and promoting of tin foil hat conspiracies. Watch this mash-up of her false vaccine claims posted by Dave Rubin to his “Rubin Report” Twitter account:

“Now we know that the vaccines work well enough that the virus stops with every vaccinated person,” Maddow proclaims in 2021. She was proved to be spectacularly wrong, of course, as we all know. “A vaccinated person gets exposed to the virus [dramatically shrugs]—the virus does not infect them, the virus does not then use that person to go anywhere else.”

WRONG.

But this is just a partial list of her incredibly bad takes. As Legal Insurrection and Twitchy contributor Mike LaChance tweeted Tuesday, “Maddow got rich pushing the Russia collusion hoax for four solid years.” I could write an entire article or two just naming all the things phony claims she’s hawked in recent times.

Writer Jason Whitlock added, “Rachel Maddow will determine which lies are fit for the public to hear. That will work out well.”

It’s almost humorous to watch someone so totally lacking in self-awareness blow hypocritical steam like this. The less funny thing, however, is that I know a lot of people who are devoted to MSNBC, and that, frankly, is terrifying.

Unfortunately, a huge reason why liberals are so often misinformed and clueless about what is actually going on in the world around them is that they’re slavishly devoted to getting their “news” from dishonest hacks like Rachel Maddow. That could at least partially explain why they keep voting for people who seem hell-bent on destroying our country.
