I Have Some Questions for the Silicon Valley Exec Who Said Middle America Is Stupid, Racist, and Violent

Many of the coastal elite have never taken a liking to what they consider those living in the “flyover country” of middle-America, and one Silicon Valley executive made that quite clear with her comments recently.

According to the Daily Caller, Melinda Byerley, MBA and founder of Timeshare CMO, a Silicon Valley-based tech start-up, took to Twitter to voice her thoughts about what us yokels should do in order to get more jobs.

Her suggestion? Stop being racist, violent, and sexist:

Byerley says that the first thing those in middle America need to realize is that “no educated person wants to live in a sh*thole with stupid people.” Particularly, in a “sh*thole” filled with people who are “violent, racist, and/or misogynistic.” In Byerley’s opinion, “big corporations,” do not consider moving to the heart of America because “those towns have nothing going for them.”

The towns have “no infrastructure, just a few bars and a terrible school system.”

The MBA claims that “we,” the educated people, like herself, “would like to live a more rural lifestyle,” but they “won’t sacrifice tolerance or diversity to do so.” Especially, these folks do not want to live in “states where the majority of residents are voting for things against their own interests,” solely, because these voters “don’t want brown people to thrive.”

Byerly continues her rant about those who dare live outside the coastal bubble by declaring that if we in flyover country clean up our act and improve our schools, then sophisticated elite may find living among us peasants more enjoyable. As she puts it, she and her fellow superior Americans would much rather “scrape by in SF than live in a huge house somewhere if it meant dealing with bigots and backwards ideologies every day.”

While I appreciate Ms. Byerly’s advice, which is no doubt laden with wisdom due to her consistent interactions and visits with us dregs of society in our humble habitat, I’m going to have to ask her some questions. Hopefully, with her much higher intelligence, she can answer some questions that are bugging me about where she lives.

For one, why are residents from your state, or states like hers, fleeing by the thousands to red states just like mine? From July 2016 to July 2017, your state lost 136,000 taxpayers who left for better opportunities in states with a less oppressive tax system, and less crime. Your state did have an increase despite the out-migration, but it appears a lot of this is migrant driven. How many of those migrants are paying the high taxes imposed on Californians?

What is California’s plan to make up for the absence of taxpayers who are no longer there to foot the bill? I’m sure you coastal elites, so much more intelligent than us middle-American hicks, have a plan to save the state. It does seem to be taking a while, though. At this time, California has the largest poverty problem in the nation by a vast margin.

And while sexism is a problem in every state, including mine here in the great state of Texas, it seems your state is having massive problems in that department. In fact, it’s sparked national outrage. As you may well know, Hollywood is beyond filthy with predators who prey on women. Sometimes not even women! Sometimes it’s children. Then some of your most recognized coastal colleagues defend or applaud them, like Meryl Streep.

And there seems to be a massive problem in your capitol too. Last I checked, there were around 150 claims of sexual assault pertaining to congressional members right in your own state. Now, I’m just a lowly middle-American with not much of a thinker in the attic compared to you, but it would seem that your state has a much larger problem with sexism than mine does, doesn’t it? Perhaps it’s just my flyover idiocy doing the talking here, but the numbers seem to be skewed in your state’s direction.

Ms. Byerly, if you could possibly help a humble hill country hick such as myself by responding to these questions, I would be ever so grateful. To be graced by your wisdom and coastal know-how would just make this yokel’s day.
