There's Another Fine Mess Joe's Gotten Us Into: Taliban Announce New Partnership

Part of being a president is not doing just what the polls say, but leading based upon sound policy in the best interests of the United States, making decisions whether they are popular or not.

Unfortunately, Joe Biden has been wrong on every foreign policy decision for the past forty-plus years. He’s not capable of competent forethought on such issues, we have the record of his whole life to tell us that.

But he’s made a huge mistake on Afghanistan. Not just because his withdrawal was horrific, and not just because he left people behind.

But because of the dangerous Islamic State that he left behind, when we had military supremacy of the country previously and had previously kept that from happening. It’s not just the Taliban, who are bad enough themselves. But you also have al Qaeda cells, the Haqqani network, plus thousands of ISIS terrorists, hungering for their own state again.

Then, on top of that all, how can you supercharge up a terrorist state? How about a terrorist state backed by China and its money?

Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid made it clear, according to the Daily Mail:

‘China is our most important partner and represents a fundamental and extraordinary opportunity for us, because it is ready to invest and rebuild our country,’ Zabihullah Mujahid told La Repubblica in an interview.

He also praised the New Silk Road – an infrastructure initiative with China is using to open up trade routes – and said Beijing investment could help reopen copper mines.

Former American envoy to the United Nations Nikki Haley points out that China has a lot of strategic motives for their actions here.

“We need to watch China because I think you are going to see China make a move for Bagram Air Force Base. I think they are also making a move in Afghanistan and trying to use Pakistan to get stronger to go against India. So, we have got a lot of issues,” she said.

Which means we just gave more fuel to their interests that can lead to more war.

So let’s be blunt here. Not only did Joe Biden turn over the country to the terrorists, in a huge strategic loss in the continuing war on terrorism, a huge mistake that will come back to haunt us, but he turned over the country to China, a huge strategic advantage they didn’t have before and now do.

The Biden team thinks, naively, that they can have influence on the Taliban with money/aid, that that influence might help get Americans out or affect their temperament. But if the Taliban has China, they don’t need the U.S., and Biden made all that possible.

Perhaps that explains why Joe Biden kept his promise to the Taliban to get out by August 31, while lying and not keeping his promise to America to get all Americans out. It’s a question of priorities. And in this case, it looks like Biden’s priorities were with the interests of the Taliban and China. So that goes back to the continuing questions in regard to Joe Biden, his son, and China. When you’re willing to do things that are so antithetical to the interests of America, it makes one wonder. Thanks a lot, Joe, there’s another fine mess you’ve gotten us into.
