In yet another on a long list of examples of how we are living in incredibly stupid times, the Daily Mail reports that deranged lunatics have allegedly issued death threats to family members of two El Paso mass shooting victims because those family members had the audacity to meet with President Trump in the aftermath:
The family of the young couple who died protecting their baby from the El Paso gunman say they have received death threats after they met with Donald Trump.
A picture of the president went viral in the wake of the mass shooting at the Walmart after it showed first lady Melania holding little Paul Anchondo as POTUS smiled and gave a thumbs up.
Among the family members in the photo was the baby’s uncle, Tito Anchondo, a Trump supporter who said he had received death threats.
‘We should be coming together as a country at this time instead of threatening each other with hate messages,’ he said.
Here’s the photo the article talks about that went viral – and made liberals go crazy (the one on the bottom left):

Along with the President and the First Lady, Tito Anchondo is pictured at left along with with baby Paul Gilbert Anchondo and an unidentified member of the Anchondo family. Paul Gilbert survived the El Paso mass shooting because his parents Jordan and Andre Anchondo gave their lives to protect him.
Tito Anchondo told NPR last week that not only was he supportive of President Trump, but that his deceased brother had been a supporter, also:
[NPR Host David] GREENE: Of course, there are some in El Paso who don’t want the president to come to the city at all. Some here think that Trump’s language about immigrants could have incited the violence that took the life of Tito’s brother. And so I asked him about that.
ANCHONDO: I can see why people would believe that. And yes, maybe he said things in bad taste, but I think people are misconstruing President Trump’s ideas.
GREENE: I’m sure people hearing from you are going to react in all different ways.
ANCHONDO: Definitely, especially since I’m Hispanic.
GREENE: And I know that there are some listeners who have been very angry at this president and feel like he’s incited racism and are probably – might have thought like, you know, you have had – in this moment of tremendous loss, like, you were going to almost rise and be a spokesperson against some of what the president has said.
ANCHONDO: Yeah. I think – my brother was very supportive of Trump. We’ve always been Republican conservatives in our family.
It’s shameful and despicable that in addition to having to contend with the overwhelming grief of losing a brother and sister-in-law that the family is now having to concern themselves with death threats, presumably from unhinged people who don’t like the fact that some members chose to meet and take photos with President Trump.
Please remember to keep them and the family members of all of the victims of the El Paso and Dayton mass shootings in your thoughts and prayers, and pray that those threatening the Anchondo family will be found and brought to justice.
